About Us

The Red Lion is an iconic pub nested in the picturesque village of Old Marston. Sitting on the edge of the City just a stone’s throw from the stunning attractions within Oxford, the pub has quickly become the favourite for many locals and tourists wanting to experience our great food and fine real ales.

Our outside area offers a place of tranquility, enjoying the atmosphere of this traditional pub offering good food and fine beers. In the summer we host Aunt Sally teams and also have a table tennis table. Since the introduction of overnight stay for our motorhome customers, the area is quite vibrant and cosmopolitan and well worth a visit.

Pub teams

The Red Lion run numerous teams, both Darts and Aunt Sally have 2 teams that play on Tuesdays & Wednesday nights, with pub quiz once a month. If you’re interested in playing, please contact the Stewart Berry on (01865) 247761 or simply drop into the pub, have a chat with him and enjoy one of our fine Real Ales.

The Red Lion Gin Bar

The gin and tonic has served more Englishmen’s lives, and minds, than all the doctors in the Empire.” – Sir Winston Churchill

We offer a wide range of Gins, Beers, Spirits & Wines and other world drinks!

A Copa de Balon is a type of glass that is perfect for drinking gin and tonics. (Typically bulbous in shape and sits on a stem almost like a red wine glass)
Gin was born around 1689 in England, which is a spirit which derives its predominant flavour from juniper berries. Gin has evolved from use in herbal medicine to an object of commerce in the spirits industry.
